In July this year, CIMAC has been officially granted consultative status with the International Maritime Organization (IMO). This is now increasingly reflected in the work of the organization and is visible to the public. For example, at the end of September, CIMAC president Rick Boom was a guest at the IMO's World Maritime Day reception, whose building was decorated with the flags of the member states. Rick reports good networking and interesting new contacts. The theme of the day was: “Navigating the future: safety first!” This emphasizes the importance of the event.
A bit later, Tomas Aminoff and Marco Coppo attended the 82nd meeting of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC). Upcoming meetings on the agenda: Expert Group meeting on data harmonization, with Marco Coppo, Constantin Kiesling and Daniel Erdmann attending, IMO Maritime Safety Committee meeting (MSC 109), with CIMAC VP Digitalization Eero Lehtovaara and Daniel Erdmann attending.
