CIMAC can report on a successfully held 9th CIMAC CASCADES 2018 event for young engineers, on the campus of Texas A&M University (College Station, Texas) scheduled from the evening of Thursday, February 22, 2018 through to Friday, February 23, 2018.
The CIMAC CASCADES event recruits students and early-career engineers to the internal combustion engine industry. Students are specifically invited to attend, where they will hear from early-career engineers working in the internal combustion engine industry and learn about the exciting, challenging, and rewarding field into which they themselves could enter. Student registration costs only $15, and is subsidized by the generous sponsorship of GE Transportation, Southwest Research Institute, the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Internal Combustion Engine Division, Texas A&M Engineering, and CIMAC North American NMA. Please let us know if you are interested in sending students, sending practicing engineers (regardless of years of experience), or having your organization help sponsor the event. We may still also have some speaker slots, in case you are, or know of, an early career engineer who would like to share the passion of the internal combustion engine.
Please find attached a flyer advertising the event; in addition to electronic distribution, it is meant to be posted on university bulletin boards. If you work at a university, we kindly ask you to send the flyer to your advising / student services office, so that they might distribute broadly to your students and post the flyers at bulletin boards around your campus building. Please encourage students to bring their resumes! We may also have a student poster / presentation session, if they are interested in discussing their own work with engines. Thank you for helping us spread the word and recruit students to participate in the event.
There are several hotels in the College Station, Texas area for out-of-town visitors to stay in. The opening reception (Thursday, February 22) is held at Calvary Court, which may make it convenient to stay there.
